Votto grounded a single between short and third in his other at bat.  He ran the bases, going first to third on a foul ball.
"I felt very good. It was nice to be back out there. It has been such a long time that I played on a consistent basis. It felt good to get back to work and playing with my teammates."

"It was good to see pitches but less than my average, right?  It was good to get some swings off. I'm behind most guys right now. I'm usually a slow-get-it-going guy so I'll be sure to play hurry up offense."

Was it good to run from first to third even if it was a foul ball?

"Man all of it was good.  All of it was fine. I think we are just about done with these sorts of questions. I'm so glad to be back and to play with the team and just fit in and focus on winning in our 2015 season. The extra time I used to get to this point is just extra time and now I'm mixing in with Jay Bruce and Brandon Phillips and Devin Mesoraco and Todd Frazier.  I could go on obviously."

Plans for rest of spring.

"I have no idea. I just expect to join in and build up as most guys do, go from three innings to five innings.  If there is anything different, I would, that is something that Bryan  would tell me first hand.  Right now I just anticipate getting ready for the 2015 season."

Votto stretched to take a throw from Kristopher Negron, who fielded a ball on the outfield grass and flipped a high throw to Votto.

"That was not a good play by me," Votto said.  "Sometimes you make an easy play look spectacular.  That was one of them. Kris made a good play.  I'm the one that almost messed it up."
