I am a freelance writer. I've covered the Cincinnati Reds, Bengals and others since 1992.
I have a background in sales as well. I've sold consumer electronics, advertising and consumer package goods for companies ranging from the now defunct Circuit City to Procter&Gamble.
I have worked as a stats operator for Xavier University, the University of Cincinnati, the College of Mount St. Joe and Colerain High School.
Joey Votto's return will be delayed by around seven days.
He returned to Cincinnati to have a piece of floating cartilage removed from his knee by Dr. Timothy Kremchek, according to Tom Groeschen of the Cincinnati Enquirer, who is in Chicago with the Reds.
The procedure took six minutes.
Although Votto was taking ground balls and hitting, there was still some residual pain in his knee. An MRI revealed the floating cartilage.
Votto was with the team in Chicago. Votto injured his knee sliding into thirdbase on June 29 in San Francisco. He had athroscopic surgery on July 17.
The Reds are 17-8 since Votto left the lineup on July 16.
