Brandon Phillips Scratched

Brandon Phillips was in the original lineup against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Less than a half hour before game time, Phillips was replaced by a manager's decision, which means Dusty Baker gave no reasons.

Phillips will miss his fourth straight game presumably with a strained left calf.

He was moving quickly and in a good mood when the clubhouse opened this afternoon.

Wilson Valdez gets the start at secondbase in Phillips' place .
