Scott Rolen and Joey Votto Sit Out Game With Giants

Joey Votto jammed his right knee on a slide after running from first to third on a single Friday night.  He came out of the game Saturday in the fifth inning when he could not run out a slow ground ball.

Dusty Baker had made up his mind to rest Votto's knee.  Votto was scheduled for a day off sometime during this road trip leading up to the All-Star Game.  It is hoped that he will miss just a couple of games.

Scott Rolen was in Baker's original lineup but was scratched late with back spasms. Rolen was replaced by Todd Frazier at thirdbase.
Rolen actually left the game. His spasms started when Zack Cozart was batting. He is considered to have played and is not available to pinch hit.
