Joey Votto Will Miss 3-4 Weeks

Joey Votto was diagnosed with a torn meniscus in his left knee.  He will have arthroscopic surgery on Tuesday and will miss three to four weeks.

A roster move will be forthcoming tomorrow.

Votto injured the knee sliding into third base in San Francisco on June 29.

"It is in the best interest of the team to do it now so that I can be healthy during the last two months of the pennant race," Votto said.

"Joey met with the medical staff this evening," Walt Jocketty said.  "Joey is very comfortable with the decision and is eager to return to the lineup."
