Scott Sebald, Ryan Atkinson Colerain Pitchers Finish First Pro Season Strong

Two former Colerain Cardinal pitchers finished their first professional seasons strong last night.

Scott Sebald was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Texas Rangers.  The 6'5" left-hander pitched 1 1/3 scoreless innings this week to finish with a 1-0 record and a 2.61 ERA.  Sebald pitched in nine games for the Arizona League Rangers before being promoted to Spokane of the Northwest League.  In five games with Spokane, he pitched 10 scoreless innings. Sebald did not allow a run in his last nine appearances.

Ryan Atkinson started for Missoula last night in the last game of the season for the Ospreys.  He earned his first professional win. Atkinson allowed one run on four hits in five innings against Great Falls.  The 6' 3" 218 lb. right-hander was 1-4 with a 3.24 ERA.

Atkinson was also an undrafted free agent signed by Arizona after a brief stint with Evansvillle of the independent Frontier League.  He struck out 39 batters in 33 1/3 innings, allowing just three earned runs in his last 14 innings.
