Reds Adcock To Bullpen






Nate Adcock was chosen from Louisville to replace Jumbo Diaz in the bullpen.

Diaz, who was the losing pitcher on Saturday, after giving up a two-run, two-out single to Matt Kemp that was the final blow that sealed the Reds' 9-7 defeat.

Adcock hails from Elizabethtown, Kentucky. He was invited to spring training with the Reds after signing on December 14. Adcock pitched in 43 Major League games with Kansas City and Texas before signing with the Reds, earning a 1-4 record with a 3.86 ERA.

At Louisville, Adcock pitched in 22 games.  He was 0-2 with a 2.96 ERA with 11 saves in 16 chances.

The Reds released RHP Matt Magill, who had elbow surgery on May 8 was released.  Magill came to the Reds in a trade for Chris Heisey.  He was 1-1 in three starts at Louisville before the injury.
