Bottom Of The Reds Order Scalps Indians

http://donatelifeohio.org/

Zack Cozart hit his first home run since June 1 off Danny Salazar with three mates aboard to ambush the Cleveland Indians in an 8-3 win.

Cozart had two home runs coming into the game and both of those were on the road, April 20 in Chicago and June 1 in Phoenix.  By contrast Kristopher Negron popped his third home run in 15 games after taking 75 games to reach that total in Louisville.

Mat Latos man handled the Tribe on three hits, two by Jason Kipnis, in the first seven innings but Yan Gomes homered to lead off the eighth.  A walk and Kipnis' third hit set up a two-run pinch hit double by Ryan Raburn to chase Latos.  Jumbo Diaz got Carlos Santana to ground out to end the mini-threat.

Bryan Pena extended his hitting streak to 11 games, one short of his career high with two singles.

The bottom third of the Reds' batting order was 6-for-10.  Cozart drove in four runs and scored twice.  Negron had a home run, single and double to score three times.  Latos contributed a hit in three at bats and scored a run.

The top three in the Reds' order was 2-for-12 including Todd Frazier's single and two run double.
