Coleran's 12th Man Teddy Kremer's Story Goes National On ESPN

Teddy Kremer's story is being told far and wide.

ESPN sent a crew to Kremer's house in Colerain Township to do a feature about Colerain's 12th Man.  They took him to the softball fields at Colerain High School this afternoon to tell part of the story.

Kremer, who was born with Down's Syndrome, was the Reds' honorary bat boy when his parents Dave and Cheryl Kremer, both retired teaches in the Northwest School District, purchased the honor at a fundraiser.

"The story has taken on a life of it's own," Dave Kremer said. "He's signing autographs.  A lot of people bring him pictures and scorebooks to sign."

Kremer was a fixture on the sidelines at Colerain High School football games when his brother Dave played offensive tackle for the Cardinals.  Kremer would wear a jersey with '12th Man' on the front.

The Reds' players, as did the Cardinals, immediately took to the effervescent Kremer.

The 30-year old, who now works part-time for the Reds in customer relations, has become a good luck charm for the team.

After losing two games in a three-game series with the St. Louis Cardinals, Reds' owner Bob Castellini ordered his presence in the dugout Tuesday night against Oakland.  The Reds swept the brief two-game series.
