UC Defense Puts the Bearcats Over Miami at Half

The Cincinnati defense turned momentum around to build a 24-14 halftime lead.

Miami scored after taking the opening kickoff in less than 3 1/2 minutes.  Zac Dysert connected with Dawan Scott on a 19-yard pass play to cap a seven-play, 75-yard drive.  A bad snap caused the extra point to fail.

The Munchie Legaux led Bearcat offense was stopped on three plays but Cameron Cheatham pick off Dysert's pass in the flat and raced 68-yards for a touchdown to put Cincinnati on top.

The Bearcats used another interception by Deven Drane to score 29 seconds later on a pass that covered 11 yards from Legaux to Danny Milligan.

Miami fumbled and the Bearcats recovered on Cincinnati 43.  George Winn scored from six yards out to cap the 4:41 drive. UC added a 24-yard field goal from Tony Miliano with 3:15 remaining.

Miami bounced back with a 10-yard pass from Dysert to Nick Harwell.  Dysert ran for the two-point conversion with 2:05 left in the half.
