Joey Votto Returns to the Lineup Wednesday Prompting Changes

Joey Votto is activated from the disabled list but is not in the starting lineup.  He is available to pinch hit.

Wednesday in a day game after a night game.  Votto will start at firstbase, putting all of the Wally Pipp cracks to bed.  Todd Frazier will be in the lineup also at thirdbase.  Brandon Phillips will move in the batting order but Dusty Baker's plan which is finalized is awaiting conversation with his players.  Phillips spot in the order and all of the ripple effects are not yet for public consumption.

"We have a plan," Dusty Baker said.  "But like any plan it is subject to change.  I am sure I'm going to get a lot of help."

Baker was referring to the kibitzing that has been going on in Cincinnati fandom and talk shows ad nauseum each and every game this season.

Every fan has an opinion but Dusty Baker's opinion is the only one that counts and the only one that has produced an 8-1/2 game lead in the NL Central, the largest among any division leader and oh yes the second best record in all of baseball.

Baker had to adjust his lineup early in the season for various reasons.  The adjustments have worked well.  Yet as tempting as it may be to stick with the same lineup.  Baker and his staff are considering the original plan formulated in Goodyear, Arizona this spring.
