Reds Lose 7-2 to Milwaukee Grienke Beats Reineke

Chad Reineke gave up a three-run home run to Cory Hart in Milwaukee's four-run third inning.  The blow followed a run scoring single by Nyjer Morgan after Yuniefsky Betancourt reached second base on Edgar Renteria's error.

Grienke allowed and RBI single in the first inning to red hot, NL Player of the Week, Jay Bruce and escaped a bases loaded, no out situation in the fourth inning with just one run by getting Reineke to hit into a double play and striking out Drew Stubbs.

The Reds emergency started gutted through 6 1/3 innings, allowing five earned runs on five hits and five walks as he tired.  Jeremy Horst pitched a scoreless 2 2/3 innings, allowing Dusty Baker to preserve his bullpen.

Jonathan Lucroy hit a solo home run off Reineke in the sixth inning.

Drew Stubbs had two of the Reds seven hits.  He had the only extra base hit, a double leading off the bottom of the first and scored his 39th run of the season (2nd in the NL) on Jay Bruce's league leading 44th RBI.
