Chase Burns One Year After Breaking In

Chase Burns broke into the Major Leaugues on June 24, 2025 against the New York Yankees.

Burns after traveling through three levels of the Reds farm system in his first professional season.

Burns struck out the first five Yankee batters in the game. Burns aka the Franchise, will face the Yanks at Yankee Stadium 362 days later.

 This time Burns, carries an 8-1 record and a 2.01 ERA. He has 14 starts in which he has allowed two or fewer runs 13 times. 

Burns pitched five scoreless innings in his last start against the New York Mets. He has to navigate three bases loaded situations his last two innings. Burns gave up four hits and three walks with seven strikeouts. The Reds are 10-4 in his starts and he won seven straight decisions.

Going back to his debut in the Major Leagues, Burns pitched five innings, allowing three runs on six hits and three walks and struck out eight. He gave up a home run to Ben Rice.

Rookie Elmer Rodriguez will make his fourth start since making his his debut on April 26. He gave up two runs in four innings on four hits and four walks in a 3-0 loss to Texas Rangers.

The 22-year old was the fourth round draft choice of the Boston Red Sox in 2021. He was out of Leadership Christian Academy in Guyanabo, Puerto Rico.

The Yankees sent Carlos Narvarez in December 2024 to the Red Sox to get Rodriguez.

His last start was on May 17. He pitched 4 1/3 innings allowing one run on five hits and a walk against the New York Mets. He is 0-1 with a 4.15 ERA.
