Votto Reaches First In 31 Straight Games By Hit of Walk

Votto is on base again.  In all 31 games of the 2011 season, Votto has either hit safely or walked to get on base.

Dave Collins started the1981 season by reaching base by a hit or walk in the first 34 games.  Votto is now the only major league player to reach base in all of his teams games.  Ryan Braun from Milwaukee had reached base in his team's first 28 games but it was snapped on Wednesday.

Votto reached base in 41 straight games during his MVP season last year.  His streak was snapped on July 3rd when he was ejected during his first at bat in Chicago.

Votto is second in the National League in on-base-percentage with .489.  Matt Holiday of St. Louis leads the league with a .509 obp.
