Matt Maloney Has A Great Day In Buffalo For Louisville

Matt Maloney saved the Reds bullpen on two occasions last month when starters had short outings.

The lefthanders reward was to be sent to Louisville.  Maloney refused to hang his head and put together a great start against Buffalo in the Bats 8-0 win.

Maloney not only pitched seven scoreless innings giving up just four hits.  Maloney went 3-for-3 at the plate including a double.  He nearly had as many hits as he allowed.

Todd Frazier, who struggled early, hit two home runs.  He had three hits to raise his average to .264.   Frazier is playing thirdbase but will probably move to left again as Juan Francisco starts a rehab assignment in Rochester, the Bats next stop.

Thirdbase has been like the Bermuda Triangle.  First Juan Francisco injured his calf playing third.  Scott Rolen is on the disabled list with a sore left shoulder.  Miguel Cairo filled in at third with an injured knee and Paul Janish shifted from short to third only to sprain his ankle, sliding into where, third base.
