Dan Osterbrock's shoulder would not cooperate this spring. He was slated to go to New Britain the Minnesota Twins Double A affiliate after spring training.
The Twins decided to keep the lefthander, who pitched at Colerain High and the University of Cincinnati before Minnesota took him in the seventh round of the 2008 draft.
Osterbrock stayed with the high A Ft. Myers Miracle to benefit from the warm weather. He was 2-0 with a 2.95 ERA at Ft. Myers, winning his last two starts. He allowed just two runs in his last 11 innings with 10 hits and two walks, both in his last start against Palm Beach.
David Bromberg went on the disabled list after being hit on the throwing arm with a batted ball.
Osterbrock was quickly called to New Britain. He jumped two levels last season, starting with low A Beloit and finishing the season at Ft. Myers.
He will make his first start with New Britain on Friday night in Portland Maine against the Portland Sea Dogs.
