Billy Hamilton To The Disabled List Brennan Boesch Returns

Billy Hamilton made a spectacular play on Tuesday.  It cost him a trip to the disabled list.

Hamilton dove to catch Alcides Escobar's line drive in the gap and caught the short hop. Hamilton popped up and threw Escobar out trying to stretch the hit into a double.  Hamilton erased Escobar on a strong throw .

Bryan Price took Hamilton out of the game after the play and Wednesday afternoon placed him on the 15-day disabled list.

"It was a spectacular play," Price said.. "He dived to field a gap shot on the short hop and got up to make a strong throw to get an above average runner. After that great throw he his shoulder was sore. We'll see how it responds to rest and treatment."

The Reds brought Brennan Boesch back from Louisville.
