Todd Frazier On A Historic Pace

Todd Frazier is on an historic pace to put up numbers that rival Hall of Famer Frank Robinson.

Frazier is on a pace to hit 51 home runs, only George Foster in 1977 has ever reached the 50 home run milestone.  He is also on pace to hit 45 doubles and drive in 112 runs.  No Reds' player has ever hit 40 doubles and 40 home runs in the same season.

Reds' batters have hit 45 or more doubles seven times. Pete Rose did it three times; 1974 (45), 1975 (47), 1978 (51).  Frank Robinson hit 51 doubles in 1962 to tie Rose for the Reds record. Vada Pinson hit 47 doubles in 1959. Dmitri Young hit 48 in 1998. High Pockets Kelly hit 45 in 1929.

No Reds' player has hit 40 or more home runs in a season since Adam Dunn hit 46 in 2004.

If Frazier can continue at this pace for the rest of the season, he will have collected 99 extra-base hits which would set a new team record, exceeding.Frank Robinson's 92 in 1962.
