The Reds recalled right-handed reliever, Jumbo Diaz from Louisville and returned right-handed reliever Carlos Contreras the other way to Louisville.
Diaz was on the Opening Day roster but was demoted after posting a 6.65 ERA in 25 games with a 2-1 record. He got himself straightened out with the help of Louisville pitching coach Ted Power. Diaz pitched in 13 games for the Bats. He lost his lone decision but posted a 1.13 ERA.
Contreras pitched in 12 games with the Reds, allowing nine earned runs in 13 1/3 innings with no decisions.
