Interleague Half Series Affects Reds and Indians

The mixed four-game series has an affect on the rosters of both the Reds and the Indians.

The Indians Steve Swisher is day-to-day and the Reds have to use the designated hitter.

The DH gives Reds' manager Bryan Price the opportunity to get Jack Hannahan a start against Corey Kluber.

"Hannahan has to stay integrated with what we are doing," manager Bryan Price said.  "Lefties (.250) are a little bit more successful against Kluber that right-handers (.218).

The Indians are dealing with a minor injury to Steve Swisher, who has a wrist injury.

"He woke this morning and told the trainers that it felt better," Indians manager Terry Francona said. "We will have him off today.  We didn't want to go to Cincinnati with two players on the bench."

The Indians will be in Cincinnati on Wednesday and will not be able to use the DH forcing them to use pinch hitters and defensive replacements.
