Joey Votto gestured to the outfield fence in the direction of Carlos Gomez.
Gomez may not have stolen a home run from Votto but the Reds' firstbaseman was near secondbase when the Milwaukee centerfielder hauled in Votto's blast.
Votto held up two fingers, referencing Gomez's catch last July in the ninth inning that ended Milwaukee's 4-3. That would have been a two-run go-ahead home run.
"It was just a product of having known him for awhile," Votto said Friday afternoon. "I've known him since we played winter ball together in 2006. We played against each other in the minor leagues and he was my neighbor in spring training. He's just out there competing and having fun."

Reds fans can recall that Jim Edmonds robbed Adam Dunn at least twice on similar catches above the centerfield wall.
"We just have to do better," Votto said. "If we don't like it, we just have to hit it farther.
Gomez stole a home run from Votto in the ninth inning with the Brewers leading 4-3 with two outs and a man on in Miller Park. The catch secured the win for Milwaukee. In September Gomez cheated Jay Bruce of a three-run home run in extra innings in a game the Brewers rallied to win in extra innings.
