Trio Get Back To Mound

The Reds emptied their training room on Wednesday.

Mat Latos, Jonathan Broxton and Mike Leake went from whirlpool to bullpen.

Latos threw 25 pitches.  Broxton threw 30, including some breaking pitches and Leake.

Latos and Broxton are coming off surgery. Leake felt discomfort during winter workouts.

"There is no reason to step on the gas with these guys," manager Bryan Pena.  "We want him to go out and play catch.  He has to be 100 percent."

Leake is scheduled to pitch against the Chicago White Sox on Friday. It will be his first appearance.

Broxton is close to appearing in a game.

The breaking ball was the last barrier.

"Broxton looks great he got into his breaking balls for the first time," Price said.  "He was reluctant at
first. Broxton looks great and he has since he's been on the mound.  Those three guys in our rotation and bullpen is special."
