For the second game in a row the Reds' starting pitcher held the opponents hitless.
Homer Bailey threw three innings, facing the absolute minimum of nine batters.

A new strategy was mentioned.
"Just walk them and pick them off," a reporter said.
Just so they're out," Cingrani replied.
Three walks kept his outing from being spectacular in a 3-2 loss to the San Francisco Giants.
"I was over striding a little bit," Cingrani said. "I had my battles. The whole first inning I was trying to throw too hard but I was missing down. That kept the ball in the ballpark."
Manager Bryan Price wanted Cingrani to work on his change-up and slider.
"He is working on getting a strong feel for his change-up and slider. His change-up was really good," Price said. "He took some chances with them. He threw a 3-2 change to Sandoval. That accounted for a couple of his walks."
The Reds offense did very little with San Francisco Giants starter, Tim Hudson.
Devin Mesoraco and Argenis Diaz singled. Roger Bernadina the leadoff hitter walked twice both no one hit the gapper that the Reds were looking for.
Chien-Ming Wang allowed a home run to Pablo Sandoval in the fifth. An error by Diaz opened the inning wide enough for the Giants to score two more runs.
The Reds only score came in the sixth inning off Sergio Romo.
Travis Mattair singled to drive in Juan Duran. Tucker Barnhart and Yorman Rodriguez hit consecutive doubles in the ninth inning. Neftali Soto lined out to short to end the game and snap his hitting streak at six games.
