Jonathan Broxton and Mat Latos Make Progress

Jonathan Broxton threw live batting practice and Mat Latos threw bullpen session on Tuesday.

Broxton had not faced hitters since he was shut down in August 23 for elbow surgery.

"I was wild but my arm feels good," Broxton said. "There is no pain."

Broxton will take a couple days of then throw a bullpen, then live batting practice again.  If he remains pain free, he will begin pitching in games.

"It was a big step for Broxton," Reds' manager Bryan Price said. "Within 10 days or so we will have a clearer picture of  who will start the season with us."

Latos bullpen session went well.

"He could have pitched in a game today," Reds' broadcaster and
former Reds' pitcher Chris Welsh said of Latos.
