Australian born right-handed pitcher, Grant Balfour, will have some fans from Colerain Township attending the two-game series.

Balfour signed with the Reds in January 2006.  Arm injuries limited his pitching to two games in Dayton and five games in Sarasota with both the Reds' Gulf Coast League and Florida State League entries.

While recovering from his injuries met and married Colerain High School graduate, Angie Kist, who was recovering from injuries of her own as a member of the Colerain Girls Cross Country team.

Balfour was claimed off waivers by the Milwaukee Brewers in 2007.  He later pitched in the 2008 World Series for Tampa Bay against the Philadelphia Phillies.  Balfour pitched in three World Series games, allowing a run on four hits in three innings.
