Robinson provided speed and defense and chipped in with a .254 batting average and a .326 on-base percentage that is slightly behind Todd Frazier's .329 for fourth highest on the team.

The 25-year old speedster from Gainsville, Florida impressed the Reds after spending seven years in the Kansas City farm system.

It was a business decision.

Xavier Paul the Reds' other extra outfielder is out of options which means the Reds would have to expose him to waivers.

“That was a tough decision to send Robinson back,” Dusty Baker said. “But he will be back in a couple of weeks and on our playoff roster. His shoulder was bothering him some and we gave him a couple of days off. He was the only one who had options. Sometimes, you can’t make the moves that you want.”
