Sappelt Is Recalled Heisey Goes to DL

The Reds selected the contract of Dave Sappelt from Triple A Louisville to replace Chris Heisey, who was placed on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to yesterday. (August 6).

Sappelt will wear number 17.  When he appears in a game, he will join Todd Frazier, Zack Cozart and Jeremy Horst as the four players to make their major league debut.

Sappelt wowed people in spring training hittine .564. 

The 5'9" outfielder was hitting in 74 games .313 with seven home runs and 29 RBI.  Sappelt also had 16 doubles and four triples.  He had four stolen bases.
