Elly De La Cruz Completes First Rehab Game

  https://gofund.me/b67c71781

Dateline: Cincinnati

Elly De La Cruz and Pierce Johnson made rehab appearances for the Louisville Bats against the Gwinnett Stripers.

De La Cruz singled and scored on a home run by Hector Rodriguez. He belted a very long home run with PJ Higgins on base off Garrett Baumann, making his second Triple A start. He walked in his third at bat. He was not challenged by running the bases.

The shortstop made two fairly routine plays in the field.

As planned De La Cruz was replaced after five innings.

Rehabbing reliever Pierce Johnson threw 17 pitches, 13 strikes in one inning. He gave up a run on two hits, with one strikeout. If he comes through the start without ill effects, Johnson will rejoin the Reds in New York

TJ Friedl, who is trying to play his way back to the big leagues, also homered off Baumann.
