Chase Burns Against Mets In Off Broadway Play

Chase Burns will get a curtain call against the New York Mets in the off Broadway production of season series.

Burns displayed his talents against the Big Apple ball team. On May 26 he secures a win with a 7-2 decision over the Mets. He pitched 5 1/3 innings, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks, he struck out eight. The scoring came off Juan Soto’s two-run homer in the sixth inning. It was all the Mets would get.

 Over all Burns is 7-1 with a 2.14 ERA. He has the fourth lowest ERA in baseball behind the Milwaukee Brewers Jacob Misiorowski, the Philadelphia Phillies Christopher Sanchez and the New York Yankees, Cam Schlitter.

Tobias Myers will be his counterpart in the opening game of the three-game series.

Myers is 0-1 with a 4.05 ERA in 20 appearances and two starts. 

The 27-year old was the sixth round pick of the Baltimore Orioles in 2016. He broke in as a free agent with the Milwaukee Brewers in 2024. The Mets got him along with Freddie Peralta for two minor leaguers.

Myers made one start as an opener against the Miami Marlins on May 22. He pitched 1 1/3 innings. He gave up one run on a hit and a walk. In his last five appearances, Myers allowed five runs in 5 2/3 innings. 

He has six appearances against the Reds with two starts with no record and a 1.35 ERA.

Myers last start against the Reds was on September 1, 2024. He pitched 5 2/4 innngs, allowing three runs, two earned on eight hits and four walks. He struck out seven and gave up a home run to Jake Fraley.
