Nick Lodolo Gets Call Against Red Hot Phillies

Nick Lodolo was counted on to be the Reds’ number two starter before spring training started will start for the third time this season. This against left handed dominated Philadelphia Phillies.

Andrew Painter is his 23-year old opponent. The right handed first pick by the Phillies in 2021 out of Calvery Christian Academy in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. 

Making his eighth start tonight in his rookie season, he is 1-4 with a 6.21 ERA.

The Phillies lost his last five starts but he pitched well in his last start against the Boston Red Sox with one run on four hits and no walks. He did not get the decision in the loss.

The Phillies and Reds have the same 24-23 record but have arrived there on different paths. The Phillies were 9-19 under Rob Thompson but are 15-4 under Don Mattingly.

The Reds were 20-11 but dropped 12 of their last 16 games.
