Brady Singer is the next in line to stop the Reds from hemorrhaging. He is 2-2 with a 5.57 ERA.
The Reds won his last three starts. His last a 9-2 win over the Detroit Tigers. He pitched 5 1/3 innings, allowing two runs on eight hits. The two prior starts were quality six inning starts, he allowed three earned runs in a win against the Minnesota Twins and a one earned run against the San Francisco Giants.
Singer has 1-2 record in three starts against the Chicago Cubs with an ERA of 4.60.
Colin Rea will pitch for the Cubs.
The eight year veteran is 4-1 with a 4.41 ERA in four starts and three relief appearances. He has one quality start which came on April 20, against the Philadelphia Phillies. He pitched 6 2/3 innings, allowing one run on six hits.
Rea's last start was a 5 1/3 winning effort against the Arizona Diamondbacks, allowing two runs on eight hits with six strikeouts.
The 35-year old right hander, has 10 starts and 11 appearances against the Reds in his career. He is 5-3 with a 5.67 ERA. He has allowed 11 home runs to the Reds in 54 innings.
