Reds Send Nick Lodolo Against The Chicago White Sox For His First Spring Effort

Nick Lodolo will start for the first time this spring against the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday (Frebruary 25, 2026).

Lodolo set career highs with 28 starts and 156 2/3 innings. He recorded a career-low 3.33 ERA. 

The 28-year old left hander, not only struck out a career-high 156 batters but also walked fewer hitter significantly. Lodolo walked just 31 batters or 1.8 per game.

He authored two complete games, becoming a rarity in baseball in the modern era. Lodolo blanked Washington on July 23 and got credit for a rain-shortened six inning game against Minnesota on June 18.
