Cincinnati Reds All-Star Player Adam Duvall In San Diego

The Reds will have an All-Star player representing the team in San Diego.

Adam Duvall was chosen by National League manager Terry Collins to play in San Diego.

Duvall leads the Reds with 22 home runs.  He is second to Jay Bruce with 59 RBI.  Bruce has 18 home runs and 62 RBI and is second to Zack Cozart with a .268 batting average.  Bruce was left off the team in spite of one of the best seasons among outfielders.

Duvall is hitting at a .252 clip but has 20 doubles, one more that Bruce.  Bruce leads the NL with six triples. Duvall is 10th in the league with a .559 slugging percentage.  Bruce is 11th with .546.

Both Bruce and Duvall deserve to be on the All-Star team instead of Dexter Fowler, who was one of five Chicago Cubs voted in by a ballot-stuffing fan base.

Fowler is hitting .290 with seven home runs and 28 RBI.  He has a .398 on-base percentage.  Bruce's OBP is .315.

The Cubs centerfielder is currently on the disabled list and may yet be replaced by Bruce if he is unable to play.
