David Holmberg To Pitch Tuesday

The Reds will recall 22-year old, David Holmberg, to start on of the games of the doubleheader with the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday night.

Tony Cingrani, the likely choice otherwise, is on the disabled list in Louisville.

The Reds acquired Holmberg from Arizona in a three-way trade involving the Tamp Bay Rays. The Reds sent Ryan Hanigan to Tampa Bay.

The left-hander started one game for Arizona last season, He pitched 3 2/3 innings, allowing three runs on six hits.

This season at Louisville, Holmberg started 10 games for Louisville.  He has an 0-4 record with a 5.28 ERA.  Holmberg, who turns 23 on July 19, struck out 30 in 44 1/3 innings but walked 22.  International League batters are hitting .324 against him.
