Joey Votto came out of his rehab start for Louisville in Pawtucket without pain. Mat Latos will join him tonight as the Bats' starting pitcher.
“He came out of yesterday well, feeling pretty good, but I think the back-to-back will be a little more telling. See how he responds today. I think that second game will be the most important thing he can do over the course of this rehab. That will be a little more telling on his readiness. With Joey, we need to know that he can come through tonight feeling good and get a better grasp on how to use him. Do we use him as an everyday player? Is he a guy who, like we did with Jay, play him three or four days and give him a day off as he continues to get stronger. Those are some of the things I’d like to answer over the course of his rehab.” “He came out of yesterday well, feeling pretty good, but I think the back-to-back will be a little more telling," Price said.
