Rolen Comes Back Valaika Sent Back

Scott Rolen is back from the disabled list from a sore left shoulder.

He will play thirdbase and bat sixth, while Phillips will remain in the cleanup spot for a couple games.

"We wanted to take that pressure off Scotty," Dusty Baker said.  "It's good to have Scotty back.  He will hit sixth a couple games then we'll return him to cleanup and put Brandon back to the second spot.

"It is good to be back," said Rolen, who played for the Cardinals from 2002 through 2007.  "It doesn't matter who we're playing it was time to come back.  Dr. Kremchek gave me a good plan to get back.  I took batting practice in Houston and my timing isn't 100 percent.  I didn't take a rehab obviously.  So I'm fine with batting sixth.  If I'm there the rest of the year it's fine with me.  I'm just glad my names on the lineup card."

Valaika hit .316 in a fill in role with a double and triple.  He made some very nice fielding plays.
