Cincinnati's defense came up with two takeaways. George Blair intercepted a pass by Tino Sunseri in the endzone to end one Pitt, first half threat. Walter Stewart forced a fumble as Sunseri was attempting to pass.
UC sacked Sunseri four times.
Pitt scored with 34 seconds remaining to make the final score 34-10 on a nine-yard pass from Sunseri to tight end Drew Carswell.
